Attend a complete Thai massage training in Davis at low cost. Traditional Thai massage is an act of meditation for both giver and receiver. Its roots are deep within the Auyurvedic traditions from India. It is the manual therapy of traditional Thai medicine.Thai culture, its food, medicine, and spirituality are different than those of India. Thai massage has been developed over 2000 years of continuous practice. It has regional and teacher lineage variations. It is a growing and evolving form of healing touch. It incorporates the best stretches from traditional Hatha Yoga and the depth of Auyurvedic medicine. It is part of the metta meditation of Thai Buddhism. It is challenging and deeply therapeutic. It is sometimes called “applied yoga” or “yoga for lazy people”. It is often combined with Thai herbal applications and spiritual healing to treat the whole person.
Receiving Thai massage is unlike anything in the West. This treatment is performed fully clothed on a comfortable bodywork futon. Clothing that you would wear for yoga is perfect. Long pants are required. The therapist applies pressure along a series of energy lines called Sen Lines. Then there is a complete series of stretches and mobilizations applied to the entire body. The average two hour treatment is very interactive. Traditional Thai Massage is beneficial for very active people as well as those with a sedentary lifestyle.
